In 2022, Birgit Graschopf created large-scale black-and-white photographic works in the technique of wall illumination for three residential buildings of Walter Immobilien in Vienna's seventh, twelfth, and eighteenth districts, which were affixed in the entrance areas and stairwells of the buildings. The residents thus experience an artistically inspired individualization of their immediate living environment on a daily basis.
The artist's approach is the spatial expansion of the entrance areas and the creation of new perspective views. Birgit Graschopf refers in the selection of motifs to the existing architecture and the building material used for this and is partly oriented to the Viennese Art Nouveau. She deals with line, form and proportion in the image and spatial design. Her murals create a unique atmosphere in the respective
entrance areas of the residential buildings.
